I've taken all my cars to Northgate Auto for a few years now. They are honest and knowledgeable mechanics with reasonable pricing which is hard to find in the auto repair industry. There are a few auto repair shops in my town, but I prefer to drive 25 minutes to Northgate Auto. There've been occasions where they recommended another repair shop for a specific issue and their recommendations have been just as awesome people who fixed my car issue correctly and at a reasonable price. They have never recommended an unnecessary repair. The coordinator, Pia, is warm, helpful and very knowledgeable. I trust the Northgate Auto team. I'm grateful to them for keeping my cars in great shape, and on the road!! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Is it possible to be in love with a repair shop? These people are the absolute best. They refuse to sell you anything you don’t need and do top notch work. And Pia is so wonderful! I’d give these folks six stars if I could. ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic place. Responsive, honest, reliable. A couple times have helped on minor things with no charge. Reception isn't the nicest, which is the only ding.

They do not have any actual mechanics that work here anymore. I was encouraged to trade my vehicle in because they were unable to determine the problem. They kept changing sensors and parts because they were guessing. This obviously ran up a bill over $1000, and I still had the exact same problems. After leaving here frustrated, out of $1000, and still in the same broken car, I took it to an actual mechanic in Butner who fixed the problem immediately (under $1000) and also gave me the pieces of metal that he found in the engine. I will never be coming back to this place. I’m very displeased with the service I received! DO NOT GO HERE!!! NOT REAL MECHANICS! RIP OFF! BIG SCAM!

They lied to me about providing an estimate before service and then overcharged for a simple fix. My windshield wiper has not been going up all the way so I took my car in to the shop. I didn't want to be swindled so I asked for them to tell me what the problem is and how much it will be. I was told "we will not lay a hand on your vehicle before we talk to you." A few hours later I get a text that my car is finished, they tightened up the nut on the wiper arm. I'm a little confused that they didn't talk to me before performing service like they said they would. But I figure since it's a 5 minute, zero parts required job that they performed they must be planning not to charge me. I get off work and come to pick up my car and they hand me a bill for $50. I managed to talk them down to $25 but be warned that this company is out to take advantage of people. They have lost two customers today, myself and my partner.

Ms. Rajagopalan, I am sorry that we were not able to provide you with the experience that we strive to provide for all of our customers. Often times with an issue similar to what you mentioned, the diagnostic steps often fix the issue and thus aren’t billed out separately. The price you were charged was for our technician’s efforts in ensuring that tightening the component was the fix required and checking that the wiper motor, wiper transmission and linkages were all operating correctly and there were no other underlying causes. I apologize that diagnostic procedures and charges were not communicated to you before hand and will work to address this issue with our staff. I apologize that you feel you were taken advantage of. This has never been, nor will ever be, our intent towards our customers. We pride ourselves on providing fair prices for the quality of service provided and only recommending and repairing things that are needed. We hope that we can earn your business again in the future.
