Durham Auto Repair

Great prices, prompt, friendly service, excellent work. I took it in in the late morning with vaguely transmission-related problems, and by the middle of the afternoon they had finished the repair for less than $200.

I started out on another local shop on someone's recommendation (Massengill's Auto in Durham). They have a very pretty shop, but now I understand how they can afford it. Very high prices, and would charge me for stupid things, like $100 just to look at a computer printout. Sigh... So I looked around some more and found Northgate Express. They have a convenient location right next to the mall, though the parking is a little tricky sometimes, and the shop isn't nearly as prim and polished as some others. But the guys who work there know their stuff, work quickly, and have repeatedly surprised me with low prices, honest assessments, and even free fixes of small things they noticed while working on something else. I'll continue to go here for as long as I live in the area and recommend them to anyone else.

These guys are great if you want real service. They won't charge you $60 to look under the hood like the dealerships do. They fix things right, have quick turnaround, are often able to take walk-ins, and really talk to you straight. I think a big reason why these mechanics don't have a fancy shop front is just because they aren't crooked!

Great place to take your car to for repairs. They are always nice and just do what you want them to do at very reasonable prices. I don't know the owners name but he always has a smile on his face and will do the best he can to take care of you. I won't be taking my car anywhere else anymore. Thanks for the great service.
